V Anchor: Small Team Raise and Lower System…Skyhook Rescue Systems

Written By: Lance Piatt

Small team… light weight technical rescue.

We discussed the use of the short monopod at the front end of this system in the previous video. Now we’ll look at the back end.

Here we have used a Skyhook Rescue Systems Spec Ops winch and drive it with. Milwaukee 28V right angle drive drill. This entire system can be carried and operated by a team of four: one operating the winch, one on the MPD, one at the edge supervising, and one ascending with the victim.

This is all set up using a “Double-V Anchor” with one half on the winch and the other focused with a big-8 knot on the MPD.
